What the model assumes — read before trusting the number
Survey taken off bottom, no weight on bit — the string
hangs at the survey station; a survey taken with WOB stacked in is
a different beam problem and this correction does not apply.
Pumps off, not rotating — a static string. Mud matters
only as buoyancy, which is why we ask the mud weight.
In-gauge hole at the assembly. Picking up a few metres off
bottom is fine — the string then sits in hole you just drilled —
but a washed-out section under a stabiliser changes the contact
and the real sag.
Enter the inclination at the D&I sensor for the
station being corrected; corrected = raw + Δ.
